Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to work on a part-time (10-15+ hours/week), flexible schedule that can be managed around your existing commitments. This is a 100% remote opportunity, allowing you to work from anywhere and maintain a healthy work-life balance. As a Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial management tasks, including financial statement preparation, accounts payable and receivable management, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all staff accounting functions, including financial statement preparation and month-end close processes
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and lender accounts, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Develop and maintain a database for consultant placement, including monthly billing, cash receipts, and accounts payable
  • Assist the CEO with administrative reports and special projects as required
  • Process monthly recurring and miscellaneous journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Maintain a high level of organization and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Clean up prior year activity to create accurate current year financials
  • Develop and implement systems to account for financial transactions, establishing a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in accounting and financial management, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. A BA/BS in Accounting is preferred but not required. You should have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to leverage these tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Excellent QuickBooks skills, with experience in managing and maintaining accurate financial records
  • A determined problem-solving approach, with the ability to act with a sense of urgency in securing invoice payments in a timely manner
  • Strong organizational and coordinating skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work constructively with others in a team setting
  • A basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting
