Key Responsibilities

• Mine and analyze large datasets to deliver normalized, research-ready patient cohorts from in-house data sources or licensed platforms, and interpret results to inform research strategy.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including biopharmaceutical companies, to deliver insights from real-world data sources, clinical data, and other relevant data sources.
• Design, clean, transform, and store data in an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization.
• Perform data mining and statistical analysis to uncover new insights into patient populations and treatment outcomes.
• Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to resolve scientific questions.
• Work collaboratively on the design and execution of outcomes research studies.
• Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and interpretable outputs from RWE studies and analyses.
• Develop dashboards, analyses, and reports for internal and external use.
• Conduct due diligence on new real-world data suppliers and vendors, and drive RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics).
• At least 2 years of experience with programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL.
• Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data.
• Knowledge of common statistical testing methodologies, including generalized linear models, clustering and classification, decision trees, machine learning, time-series analysis, and survival analysis.
• Experience handling large datasets from multiple data sources.
• Experience handling protected patient health information.
• Familiarity with at least one Business Intelligence (BI) tool, such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not essential, the following skills and experience will be considered a plus:

• Expertise in EMR/Health IT, disease libraries, and insurance claims datasets.
• Knowledge of clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode).
• Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials.
• Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions.
• Experience with trial design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, computational statistics.
• A strong understanding of statistics and machine learning methodologies, with a commitment to ongoing self-learning of technical and non-technical skills.
