Job Summary

We're seeking a seasoned Director of Governance and Reporting to lead our Governance and Reporting Team within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). As a key leader, you'll be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust governance structure that ensures effective risk management and compliance across the organization. You'll work closely with senior leaders, business units, and functional areas to develop and implement governance frameworks, risk management strategies, and reporting processes that drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance and Risk Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive governance framework that ensures effective risk management and compliance across the organization.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a diverse team of high-performing professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure the team is equipped to meet business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leaders, business units, and functional areas to ensure effective communication, coordination, and alignment of governance and risk management activities.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and implement reporting processes and analytics to provide insights on risk management and compliance performance, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Training and Development: Develop and administer comprehensive training initiatives and clear career progression plans that align with Enterprise Project Risk Governance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the integration of regulatory changes and updates into the Enterprise Project Risk framework and training materials.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in risk management, preferably within the Risk and/or Internal Audit function.
  • Skills: Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and obtain buy-in from senior business unit/tech counterparts.
  • Expertise: Expertise in process governance, with a track record of establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards.
  • Industry: Experience within the financial services industry.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively.
  • Team Management: Demonstrated history and ability to manage teams spread over geographies and with varying backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience: Experience in at least one of the following:
    • Translating risk strategies and appetite into execution guidelines.
    • Tracking and identifying issues with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite to ensure relevant risks are managed within agreed thresholds.
    • Implementing risk governance frameworks.
    • Creating, communicating, and ensuring understanding and adherence to risk procedures and standards.
    • Supporting the risk exam management processes.
