Key Responsibilities

As a lawyer at Medway Legal Services, you will be expected to:

  • Carry a caseload of matters in proceedings and pre-proceedings
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
  • Represent clients in court and tribunals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practices

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid solicitor's qualification or barrister's qualification
  • Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in the public sector
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in childcare law, contracts law, or property law
  • Knowledge of the public procurement regime
  • Experience working in a local authority or similar environment
