Responsibilities

As a Part-Time/Full-Time Babysitter with TowardJobs, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of families, providing care and support to children of all ages. Your responsibilities may include:

• Coordinating and executing age-appropriate activities to promote learning, growth, and development
• Transporting children to and from daycare, after-school activities, home, and other destinations
• Assisting with virtual learning and homework, ensuring that children stay on top of their schoolwork
• Preparing healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for children
• Bathing and diaper changing for infants and toddlers
• Establishing and maintaining a bedtime and morning routine to promote healthy sleep habits and a sense of security
• Practicing social distancing and taking COVID precautions to ensure the health and safety of children and families
• Building strong relationships with children, families, and other caregivers to create a sense of community and support

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have a verifiable phone number and a valid Social Security Number
• Pass a general background test
• Be friendly, honest, and hardworking, with a passion for working with children
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to lift 25 pounds or more, as needed
• Be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Early childhood education or a related field
• Experience working with children of all ages, including infants, toddlers, and school-age children
• Certification in CPR and first aid
• Fluency in a second language
• Experience with special needs care or tutoring
