About the Role: Math Instructor (Full-Time)

We're seeking an experienced and inspiring Math Instructor to join our dynamic team in Kansas City, MO. As a full-time Math Instructor at Vanguard College Prep, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students. You'll be responsible for instructing small groups of students, tracking their progress, and developing engaging lesson plans that foster a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct small "core" groups of students in math core skills to promote long-term understanding and top scores in college readiness exams (ACT & SAT).
• Track student progress through our multi-phase curriculum, providing individualized growth and improvement opportunities.
• Model professionalism and strong organizational skills, maintaining timely communication with students and updating lesson schedules on our online platform.
• Spearhead the development and creative execution of ever-evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
• Mentor middle and high school students with empathy and understanding, helping them navigate the increasingly competitive college application process.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, education, or related STEM field (Master's or higher preferred).
• Teaching experience in math and/or experience working in a college-level tutoring center (1+ years).
• GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
• Reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace with minimal noise/distraction.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level.
• Robust understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to create customized, engaging lesson plans.
• Desire to help students recognize, reach for, and realize their fullest potential.
• Dynamic and outgoing personality, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Mastery of SAT and ACT Math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
