Job Summary

As a Nutrition Specialist at Tutor Time Learning Center, E Baseline, you will be responsible for preparing healthy, home-style meals and snacks for our children and staff. You will work closely with our team to create menu plans that meet state and federal requirements, USDA guidelines, and our center's nutritional standards. Your goal will be to provide delicious, nutritious food that supports the overall well-being and development of our children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Menu Planning: Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the boundaries of our school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements.
• Food Preparation: Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff, and distribute food to the classrooms.
• Health and Safety: Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, which incorporates USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations.
• Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of food and supplies, and order more when needed.
• Flexibility: Adapt to menu changes and meet meal and snack schedules.
• Support: Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.

Requirements:

• Work Experience: Preferred experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
• Willingness to Learn: A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility: Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nutrition Knowledge: Knowledge of nutrition and child development principles.
• Culinary Skills: Ability to prepare healthy, delicious meals and snacks.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
