Job Overview
As a Data Engineering Summer Intern, you will partner with experienced data professionals to support important data programs, including cross-departmental data projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in data analytics and engineering while working on solving business problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with data, product, and engineering teams to gather and understand data support expectations
- Work with Data Architects, product, and engineer teams on enhancements
- Communicate insights with relevant team members
- Participate in the development and implementation of data engineering projects
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of data pipelines and architectures
- Contribute to the creation of technical documentation and knowledge sharing
Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must:
- Be currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field of study
- Be returning to school in Fall 2025 to complete your degree
- Have basic knowledge of SQL and ETL processes
- Be proficient with Excel (including complex functions) and Lucidchart
- Possess excellent documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data engineering tools and technologies, such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or cloud-based data platforms
- Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
