About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our remote team and contribute to the development of innovative technology solutions that power the Disney guest experience. As a Software Engineer, you'll apply your technical expertise to design, develop, test, and deploy software applications, fixes, and components that drive business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned software development tasks and fixes using the latest technologies, ensuring high-quality and scalability.
  • Participate in developing specifications for assigned components, tasks, or fixes, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Write code, complete programming, write tests, perform testing, and debug code to ensure seamless execution.
  • Follow established protocols for installation, security, and documentation, maintaining the integrity of our systems.
  • Develop, run, build, and maintain technical components related to server-side and web service-based solutions, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Develop expertise in front-end technology stack and assist with end-to-end problem-solving, driving technical innovation.
  • Interact and coordinate work with other technical organizations within the company, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Review or resolve problems and perform testing, ensuring the highest quality and reliability.
  • Participate in conceiving and setting the architectural path for web development projects, driving technical vision and strategy.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in coding and development of highly scalable, high-volume software components, and/or customer-facing web applications.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, coding best practices, database applications, and web application development.
  • Significant experience with relevant technologies, including:
  • Java
  • Web Services (SOAP & REST)
  • SQL
  • CS Fundamentals
  • Development Tools
  • JSON
  • Message Queues
  • XML DTDs
  • HTTP Protocol

Preferred Qualifications

To take your application to the next level, you'll ideally have:

  • Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, SQS, S3, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
  • Solid expertise in microservices architecture and design.
  • Experience with RESTful Web Services or APIs using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Function, JPA, and JAXB.
