Role Description

Join a leading AI lab’s cutting-edge GenAI team and help build foundational AI models from the ground up. We're seeking talented Math and Statistics subject-matter experts (SMEs) to bring deep domain expertise and elevate the quality of our AI training data. This is a remote, flexible opportunity to collaborate directly with the research teams of a leading AI lab.

  • Guide research teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in your Math domain.
  • Create and maintain precise annotation standards tailored to your domain specialty. As a domain SME, you'll set the gold standard for quality and rigor.
  • Develop guidelines and detailed rubrics/evaluation frameworks to assess Math reasoning across tasks.
  • Design challenging, domain-relevant Math tasks across multiple specializations, and write accurate and well-structured solutions to Math problems.
  • Evaluate Math tasks and solutions and provide clear, written feedback.
  • Collaborate with other subject matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data.

Qualifications

  • Location: Applicant MUST be currently living in the US
  • Education: A Master's or Ph.D. degree from a top-tier university in Mathematics or Statistics.
  • Experience: Have 3+ years of professional experience in a math-centered role at a reputable institution.
  • Domain expertise in 1 or more of the following:
    • Foundations
    • Arithmetic
    • Algebra
    • Geometry
    • Trigonometry
    • Calculus
    • Probability and Statistics
    • Number Theory
    • Topology

Benefits

  • Pay rate between $110 and $120 per hour.
  • Flexible, remote work that will have a significant impact on the development of advanced AI models.
  • Initial commitment of 18 weeks, with potential to extend based on project needs and performance.
  • Ideal commitment of ~40hrs/week with a minimum availability of ~20 hrs/week. You'll join calibration calls with the client’s team 2-5x per week (PST business hours).
