Job title: GIS Programmer/Analyst Company: AECOM Job description: Requisition/Vacancy No. 272050BR Job Category Geographic Information Systems Job Summary AECOM is seeking a creative, motivated and highly talented GIS Programmer/Analyst for immediate employment in Baltimore, Maryland. This position will provide technical GIS support and coordination on a wide range of GIS and asset management projects and programs across the region. Responsibilities includes, but not limited to:

  • Support and serve as technical lead on large-scale enterprise GIS programs
  • Create, manage, validate and maintain various types of GIS data, databases and services
  • Develop, deploy and manage web-based geospatial content, applications and systems
  • Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate GIS tasks and assignments
  • Provide consultation for geospatial strategic planning and resolution of issues, technical assistance and training
  • Plan and administer installations, upgrades and enhancements of GIS hardware, software, and procedures
  • Develop tools, scripts and workflows to automate and streamline mapping, data management and geoprocessing tasks
  • Perform QA/QC review of GIS data and compile metadata
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Watershed Science, Geography, Engineering, Planning, Information Service or other related field with a strong emphasis in GIS
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS platform
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Perform data conversion from multiple formats (PDF, TIFF, JPEG, CAD) into GIS datasets
  • Ability to develop maps and map products (map books, visual aids, slides) utilizing GIS data
  • Strong understanding of spatial data fundamentals
  • Geodatabase management experience for and data operations, including setup, schema, domains, relationship classes, and topology and network model rules
  • Knowledge of workflow automation, and model building, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail oriented with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Develop web maps (AGOL, ArcGIS Portal) and Esri field solutions (ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123) for project staff to collect, review project data, and maintain online services
  • Coursework or experience using Python to customize production tools
  • Experience working with underground utility (e.g. water, wastewater, sewer and/or stormwater) industry
  • Have worked on major enterprise GIS and/or asset management programs
