About the Role

This is a full-time, remote position that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. As an Autism Support Teacher, you'll be responsible for providing case management, differentiated instruction, and support to students with Autism and Severe Disabilities in elementary and high school settings. You'll work closely with IEP team members, para-educators, and families to ensure that our students receive the best possible education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide case management responsibilities for assigned students, ensuring their educational and personal needs are met.
  • Design and implement differentiated instruction based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other evidence-based practices.
  • Facilitate access to the school environment, promoting inclusivity and socialization.
  • Collaborate with IEP team members, para-educators, and other school staff to develop and implement Standards-Based IEPs.
  • Monitor and support para-educators working with assigned students, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records, collect and interpret data on student learning and progress, and administer assessments as required.
  • Demonstrate and implement Positive Behavior Support practices, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Attend professional development trainings, staying up-to-date on best practices and research-based methodologies.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, working closely with families and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective educational plans.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following qualifications:

  • Delaware Certification as Teacher of students with Autism and Severe Disabilities or certification eligibility.
  • Classroom experience teaching students with Autism and Severe Disabilities preferred.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other evidence-based practices.
  • Delaware Advanced License, Delaware Continuing License, or Delaware Initial License.
