Job Summary

The Machine Operator Trainee will be responsible for machine operations, production, and general maintenance in our web press operations. As a Machine Operator Trainee, you will work closely with our production team to ensure efficient and high-quality production processes. This is a full-time position that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate web press equipment, including hanging plates, adjusting feeder/delivery units, filling ink wells, and water tanks
• Monitor and adjust ink fountains for proper ink distribution
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment, ink/water problems, and design layout configurations
• Work with production team to ensure efficient and high-quality production processes
• Interpret and follow special instructions and job specifications
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures

Essential Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field or previous experience in a production environment preferred
• No previous experience required; mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are essential
• Ability to lift 25-50 lbs throughout a shift (10-12 hours)
• Requires walking, lifting boxes, bending, pushing rolls, and moving pallets
• Must be able to work with detail and interpret special instructions
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced digital production environment with tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a production environment, particularly in web press operations
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with troubleshooting mechanical equipment
• Experience with design layout configurations and ink/water systems
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Compensation and Benefits
