Key Responsibilities

  • Instructing Students: Teach Pre-K students in a remote setting, using a range of instructional strategies to engage students and promote learning.
  • Lesson Planning: Prepare and deliver lesson plans that are aligned with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and productive learning environment that is conducive to student success.
  • Communication: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed about student progress and involve them in their child's education.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to help students grow and develop.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certification: Active 001, 002, 003, 008, 112, or 113 CDE Certification as required by the Connecticut State Department of Education.
  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience working with students in a diverse school setting, preferably in a Pre-K or early elementary grade level.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with digital tools and platforms used in remote learning environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Remote Learning: Previous experience teaching in a remote or online setting.
  • Early Childhood Education Expertise: In-depth knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
  • Multicultural Experience: Experience working in a multicultural educational setting.
  • Team Teaching Experience: Experience with team teaching or collaborative instruction.
