Associate Counsel – Litigation

Job Summary: Reports to the AVP, Assistant General Counsel, and provides legal and business counsel with a focus on disputes, litigation, and risk management.

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide legal and business counsel and support regarding compulsory process, disputes, litigation, and risk management (“Disputes”) to Claritev Leadership and Legal Department Management.
  • Respond to subpoenas, legal process, and other legal correspondence.
  • Identify and analyze legal issues, perform legal research, resolve Disputes, and seek proactive solutions to avoid future Disputes.
  • Manage outside litigation counsel.
  • Serve as a Legal Department resource with respect to Disputes, including reporting to stakeholders and Executive Leadership, managing relationships with outside counsel, guiding staff, and leveraging technology.
  • Direct, supervise, and train Assistant Counsel, paralegals, and administrative staff.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training programs for internal departments.
  • Collaborate across disciplines and departments, and with external counsel and advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Company’s core values.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Training):

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar admission, in good standing, in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience related to complex commercial litigation, with a preferred emphasis on healthcare law.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal projects, analyze issues, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to foster collaboration and manage stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, drawing valid conclusions, and driving execution.
  • Comfortable using relevant software, hardware, and litigation management tools.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and the ability to represent the company positively.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $135k-$150k. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
