The Opportunity

As an Account Manager, Employee Benefits, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing strategic guidance, and delivering exceptional service to ensure their benefit-related needs are met. You'll work closely with our internal service team, Benefits Consultants, and Client Executives to develop and implement customized solutions that drive business results and improve employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and maintain a portfolio of clients, ensuring their benefit-related needs are met and exceeded

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, providing guidance on benefit design, cost containment, and compliance
  • Delegate work assignments to internal service team members, ensuring seamless delivery of services
  • Collaborate with Benefits Consultants and Client Executives to manage the entire renewal process, from needs analysis to enrollment
  • Manage day-to-day client issues, resolving complex problems and escalating concerns as needed
  • Conduct needs analysis and strategy calls to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Conduct enrollment meetings and regular face-to-face meetings with clients to build relationships and educate on industry trends
  • Advise clients on reducing costs while offering competitive benefits options
  • Assist clients with 5500 form filings, as applicable
  • Identify cross-sale opportunities to grow the book of business
  • Build relationships with clients through proactive communications, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded
  • Communicate and educate clients on the latest trends, concerns, and changes in the industry
  • Effectively and efficiently manage complex accounts and high-level service deliverables
  • Provide leadership within the extended service team, mentoring and coaching colleagues to achieve excellence

Requirements

* 3+ years of experience in account management or a consultative role, with a proven track record of success

  • Prior experience in a broker agency or benefit administration firm, with a deep understanding of the industry
  • Current Life and Health license, with a thorough knowledge of health and ancillary products
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate complex ideas
  • Leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues
  • Ability to work with clients at a strategic level, providing guidance and expertise to drive business results
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm

Preferred Qualifications

* Familiarity and practical knowledge of quoting process and tools

  • Bachelor's Degree, with a focus on business, communications, or a related field
  • Experience with database applications, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

* Competitive salary, ranging from $80,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
