We are responsible for providing insights around our business and its related processes, as well as clients and products. Our team works closely with stakeholders to deliver significant business insights and drive business growth. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to lead key cross-functional projects for both our energy and auto businesses. As a Data Scientist at Tesla, you will utilize data science tools and techniques to drive business process automations, support sales and service strategies, and deliver data-driven insights to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all phases of data science projects, from interpreting complex business issues into data science problems to performing data analysis and modeling, and providing solutions for the business.
  • Develop and maintain complex data pipelines, supporting our team's goal of democratizing data and enabling a data-driven organization.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, ML Engineers, and Product Managers to drive business growth through data-driven insights.
  • Effectively communicate significant insights to all levels of the organization, with varying levels of data science understanding and backgrounds.
  • Apply various ML, advanced analytics, and visualization techniques to different datasets across the organization.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering).
  • Results-oriented with strong data science skills and a proven track record of extracting data insights and building ML models.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization.
  • Mastery in SQL and Python, particularly in standard data science libraries and frameworks like pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, Tensorflow/PyTorch, PySpark, etc.
  • Capability in at least one visualization tool, such as Tableau, Streamlit, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in business analysis or a related field.
  • Uplevel team's ML capabilities in at least one significant area (e.g., forecasting, predictive modeling, descriptive analytics, or Natural Language Processing (NLP)).
  • Expertise in data wrangling and analyzing large and complex datasets, structured or unstructured.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to rapidly take on new challenges.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
