Job Summary

As a Customer Advocate I, you will work under supervision in a call center environment, assisting members and physicians by responding to telephone and written inquiries. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting research to provide accurate and objective responses to member inquiries
  • Spending approximately 85% of scheduled time on the phone, according to business needs
  • Providing exceptional customer service, responding to telephone and written inquiries in a prompt and accurate manner
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve complex member issues
  • Maintaining accurate records and data entry

Key Responsibilities

* Respond to telephone and written inquiries from members and physicians in a prompt, accurate, and objective manner

  • Conduct research to provide accurate and objective responses to member inquiries
  • Spend approximately 85% of scheduled time on the phone, according to business needs
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to telephone and written inquiries in a prompt and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve complex member issues
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Meet productivity and quality standards, as defined by the organization

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

  • 6 months of customer service experience or 6 months of experience in an office environment
  • Data entry and/or typing experience
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Analytical and organizational skills
  • Independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to spend approximately 90% of scheduled time on the phone, according to business needs
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time with scheduled breaks

Preferred Qualifications

* 9 months of customer service experience

  • Experience working with various lines of business, including CDHP, Medicare, Wellness, and Disease Management
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
  • Referral preference given to applicants able to take and meet testing criteria
