Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer experiences, supporting our patients and families, and helping us achieve our vision of transforming the way care is provided. You'll handle incoming and outgoing calls, respond to customer inquiries, and provide accurate and thorough processing of order requests. You'll also work closely with our internal departments and external sources to coordinate patient services, facilitate problem-solving, and maintain communication of changing payer and referral source information.

Key Responsibilities

* Handle incoming and outgoing calls for new HME service requests

  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide accurate and thorough processing of order requests
  • Work closely with internal departments and external sources to coordinate patient services
  • Facilitate problem-solving with patients, hospitals, providers, referral sources, insurance companies, and clinical staff
  • Maintain communication of changing payer and referral source information specific to coordination of patient needs
  • Perform data entry of patient intake information into computer system and records insurance information and authorization requirements and notes in the computer system
  • Coordinate delivery of requested services and referrals as appropriate
  • Provide verbal and written instructions to patients, families, and coordinating resources regarding provision of products and services, reimbursement, and patient financial responsibility

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge

  • Literacy and basic math skills
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with hospital operations
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with commonly used office software products and ability to learn new software applications

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience in a healthcare setting

  • Additional related education and/or experience
