Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Professional at blithequark, you'll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to customers, assessing their needs, and providing assistance to sell entire projects. You'll learn about our products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe. Additionally, you'll be responsible for providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to your Manager on Duty.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, assessing their needs and providing assistance to sell entire projects

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to your Manager on Duty
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments
  • Participate in sales and customer service initiatives to drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to build loyalty and drive repeat business
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends to provide expert advice and guidance to customers

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or related environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management
  • Strong product knowledge and sales skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales and customer service targets
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

* 2-3 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or related environment

  • Experience working in a sales-driven environment, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen & bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
  • Experience working with customers to identify and meet their needs, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues to achieve sales and customer service targets
