Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and help us tackle one of the world's most complex technical challenges in data engineering. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building large-scale data pipelines that ingest data from various sources, process and transform it, and deliver it to our AI models and business stakeholders. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, design and implement data solutions, and ensure high-quality data delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and build large-scale data pipelines using AWS and Amazon's internal tools to ingest data from various sources, process and transform it, and deliver it to our AI models and business stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain business logic for data transformation and ingestion pipelines using S3, Redshift, and EMR.
• Design and implement data warehousing and ETL pipelines using AWS services such as Redshift, S3, and EMR.
• Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and product managers to understand business requirements and design data solutions that meet those needs.
• Work with our development team to ensure seamless integration of data pipelines with our application stack.
• Develop and maintain high-quality data documentation and metadata to ensure data governance and compliance.

A Day in the Life

As a Data Engineer at blithequark, you will be working on a wide range of projects that involve designing and building large-scale data pipelines, developing data warehousing and ETL solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes. You will be working closely with our data scientists, business analysts, and product managers to understand business requirements and design data solutions that meet those needs.

Essential Capabilities

* 2+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in designing and building large-scale data pipelines.

• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines using AWS services such as Redshift, S3, and EMR.
• Strong understanding of data governance and compliance, with experience in developing and maintaining high-quality data documentation and metadata.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data problems and design effective solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.

Preferred Capabilities

* Experience with AWS services such as Redshift, S3, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM jobs and authorizations.

• Experience with non-relational data stores such as object storage, report or key-value stores, graph databases, and time-series databases.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in designing and building large-scale data pipelines.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.
