Job Summary

As a Remote Medical Customer Service Specialist, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families, resolving issues in a timely manner, and maintaining a working knowledge of workflow systems. This is a part-time opportunity, with a flexible schedule that allows you to work from the comfort of your own home. Responsibilities

* Review and identify issues from calls into the telephony system in a timely manner (50%)

  • Maintain a working knowledge of workflow systems to properly assign follow-up dates, department requests, and notate appropriately (10%)
  • Ensure all calls within business hours are answered and handled appropriately, providing exceptionally high customer service to callers within company guidelines (10%)
  • Perform payment transactions and request payment from accounts reflecting a balance (10%)
  • Assist with clerical duties as needed, such as email, facsimile, etc. (10%)
  • Requires close supervision and guidance from the supervisor (10%)

Requirements

* 1+ years of medical revenue cycle experience (required)

  • 2+ years of medical revenue cycle experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in workflow systems and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting

  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding principles
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems (PMS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
