Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Customer Service Expert - Phone Intake Representative, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to approximately 60-65 incoming calls per day from patients, providers, and referral sources, demonstrating exceptional empathy and patience in handling complex requests and difficult conversations.
  • Collecting clinical and demographic information from patients and entering it into our CareCentrix portal, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to resolve patient concerns, address medical queries, and provide timely solutions.
  • Meeting or exceeding individual performance goals in areas such as Call Quality, Attendance, Adherence, and other Contact Center objectives.
  • Participating in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as medical terminology, HIPAA/PHI compliance, and customer service best practices.
  • Maintaining a positive and professional attitude, even in high-pressure situations, and promoting a culture of empathy and understanding within the team.

Qualifications

To succeed as a Healthcare Customer Service Expert - Phone Intake Representative, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a call center environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in the healthcare or medical industry, with a strong understanding of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex conversations and build rapport with patients and providers.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately collect and enter patient information into our CareCentrix portal.
  • Intermediate keyboarding abilities (at least 30 WPM, data entry while active listening).
  • Basic PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to navigate dual monitors and multiple applications.
  • Search Engine abilities (for example: use the mouse to click, troubleshooting, opening a browser, using a search engine, bookmarking a site, and navigating the use of back/forward buttons).

Internet Requirements

To ensure seamless communication and data entry, you will need:

  • High-speed Internet: Fiber or Cable connection required.
  • Speeds: 2mb/10mb upload and 10mb/25mb download or higher.
  • DSL, Satellite, Wireless, and Hotspot connections are prohibited due to poor connections.
  • While working, required to hardwire with an ethernet cable.
