About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Insurance Operations Manager to join our growing team. This pivotal role will be responsible for leading our Account Management team, driving operational efficiencies, and playing a key role in the development and enhancement of our MGA2 system. The ideal candidate will bring robust workers' compensation insurance experience and a proven track record of process improvement and team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily activities of the Account Management and Account Executive teams, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across the department.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder and subject matter expert in the creation, development, and ongoing enhancement of our MGA2 system, ensuring it aligns with business needs and operational workflows.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows related to workers' compensation policy administration, claims processing, and client servicing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, IT, and sales, to ensure seamless operations and achievement of company objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the operations team, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies within all operational processes and system functionalities.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience in insurance operations, with a significant focus on workers' compensation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams, including Account Managers and/or Account Executives.
  • Proven ability to identify, create, and implement process efficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong experience with insurance management systems; heavy involvement in the creation, development, or enhancement of an MGA or similar insurance platform is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of workers' compensation insurance principles, practices, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a data-driven approach.

Nice-to-have

  • Formal project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Insurtech or startup environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools.

Working at CompScience Compensation: CompScience is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 – $130,000. Compensation is determined within the range based on your qualifications and experience. Our total compensation package also includes equity and comprehensive benefits. Benefits at CompScience:
