What You’ll Do As QA System Architect, you’ll blend strategic leadership with hands-on execution to drive quality excellence: Architecting for Excellence

  • Design and implement scalable QA strategies and frameworks for a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Enhance test coverage by leveraging customer and field data analysis.
  • Build advanced automation frameworks to support CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and accelerated testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering architects to develop testing frameworks in parallel with feature development.
  • Champion test-driven development (TDD) and modern fault injection techniques across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Innovate tools and processes for efficient test data management and environment provisioning.
  • Stay ahead of QA trends, adopting cutting-edge tools and techniques to boost efficiency.

Leading for Impact

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a lean, high-performing QA team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Define and monitor critical quality metrics and KPIs to ensure release quality.
  • Partner with engineering, product, release, and customer-facing teams to prioritize quality initiatives.
  • Drive a quality-first culture across the organization for faster, more reliable product delivery.
  • Develop and manage the QA roadmap, balancing tactical needs with long-term scalability and aligning with company goals.
  • Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for QA initiatives.
  • Keep stakeholders informed on QA progress and drive rigorous testing for consistent, release-ready products.
  • Represent QA in high-level discussions with stakeholders and clients.

Hands-On Collaboration

  • Troubleshoot complex issues, diving into logs, code, and test results to identify root causes.
  • Collaborate on test case design and execution for comprehensive coverage.
  • Mentor junior team members, sharing expertise to overcome technical challenges.
  • Contribute to automation efforts by writing or reviewing code to enhance test infrastructure.

Who You Are You’re a dynamic leader with a proven track record of building and scaling QA functions from scratch. Technical Expertise

  • Extensive experience designing QA frameworks and automating tests in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficient in automation tools (e.g., PyTest, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript for robust test automation.
  • Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps integration.
  • Skilled in test management (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) and bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and testing cloud-native applications.

Leadership & Experience

  • 15+ years of QA experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success scaling QA processes and teams in startups or hyper-growth settings.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments.
  • Strong communication skills, bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passion for fostering a collaborative, quality-driven culture in agile teams.
  • Experience managing distributed QA and development teams.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality software products.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with SaaS or AI-driven products in a startup environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Lean Startup methodologies.
