The Business Technical Operations Team at Medtronic is responsible for managing the company's global integrated planning application. This team works collaboratively to ensure planning operations across all business units and global regions runs smoothly and efficiently. The Anaplan platform is a central data & analytics platform for Medtronic leaders and planners to gain access to business-critical data needed to drive data-driven decisions and improves our ability to serve our patients. The Business Technical Operations team is looking for an Sr. Advanced Analytics Analyst to play a critical role in designing and implementing comprehensive planning solutions that enables us to plan and execute our business strategies. You will oversee the development and continued improvement of our Anaplan planning application, working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, and translating those requirements into effective technical solutions. Your customers include executives throughout the company, developers, partner teams and all end users. Our team is innovating new ways of building data into the heart of Medtronic and works to scale solutions that meet the needs of multiple businesses, regions, and functions.   • Engage with senior stakeholders, including executives and department heads, to understand their strategic objectives and translate them into actionable analytics initiatives.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of complex data sets, applying advanced statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling to extract valuable insights and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Drive the development and implementation of robust financial forecasting models and demand planning tools using Anaplan, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and alignment with business needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, operations, and sales, to develop a cohesive data strategy, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and governance across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Evaluate the performance of existing analytical models, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance on data visualization and reporting, working closely with business partners to create impactful dashboards and reports that empower informed decision-making.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies in analytics, attending conferences, participating in professional networks, and sharing knowledge with the team to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, inspects, mines, transforms, and models data to raise productivity, improve decision making, and gain competitive advantage.
  • Conducts statistical analysis on data and information to ensure correct predictive forecasting or classification.
  • Manages all aspects of end-to-end data processing utilizing customized report building functions of systems.
  • Maintains analytical systems, verifies the accuracy of the data, and acts as a liaison to the business.
  • Translate existing solutions, spreadsheets, and business problems into Anaplan multi-dimensional models
  • Maintain existing Anaplan models with a focus on continuous improvement, incorporating new functionality and fixing issues in production to support business objectives and initiatives
  • Write model documentation to capture requirements, design solutions, deployment and run state activities
  • Participate in data integration efforts between internal systems and Anaplan
  • Monitor and validate data flows to and from Anaplan platform
  • Participate and/or lead UAT testing and deployment with project team
  • Provide hands-on training to end users to facilitate adoption of the Anaplan model
  • Utilize and share Anaplan model building best practices
  • Estimate level of effort and prioritize your backlog of work in a way that satisfies stakeholder and team expectations

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Requires a University Degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science)
  • Extensive experience in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and data analysis.
  • Certified Anaplan Solution Architect or Certified Anaplan Model Builder
  • Demonstrated expertise in Anaplan model building, with a track record of designing and implementing complex financial forecasting models.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience in driving data strategy and aligning analytics initiatives with business objectives.
  • A passion for continuous learning, innovation, and staying ahead of industry trends.
