TAX PREPARER (Seasonal or Year-Round)

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team on a seasonal or year-round basis. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in accounting, tax preparation, and financial software, who are committed to providing exceptional service to clients. The Tax Preparer will assist clients in preparing and filing accurate tax returns, ensuring compliance with current tax laws, and offering valuable financial insights. • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individual and business clients with accuracy and attention to detail
• Review financial documents such as W-2s, 1099s, receipts, and bank statements to gather necessary information
• Utilize accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and other tax preparation tools to compile data
• Analyze client financial information to identify potential deductions and credits that maximize refunds or minimize liabilities
• Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimal tax strategies
• Provide excellent customer service by answering client inquiries and explaining complex tax concepts clearly
• Assist with bookkeeping tasks and maintain organized client records throughout the tax season
• Support marketing efforts by promoting services to prospective clients when appropriate

Qualifications

• Proven experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or related financial fields
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial concepts, and technical accounting practices
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other relevant financial software
• Excellent analysis skills combined with strong math abilities including 10 key typing skills
• Familiarity with corporate accounting, bookkeeping, and financial sales techniques is a plus
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information effectively
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team during busy tax seasons or year-round operations
• Prior experience in marketing or sales within financial services is advantageous
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential for success in this role

Compensation

This is a commission-based role. Preparers earn a 75/25 split (if Mentorship option) with potential bonuses depending on performance. Other options allow pay without split.
