AI/Automation Specialist We're looking for a highly skilled Cybersecurity AI/Automation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing innovative solutions that streamline cybersecurity and privacy operations, increase efficiency, and enhance data reporting accuracy. You'll work closely with the agency Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO), and other key stakeholders to analyze, design, and implement automated solutions that reduce manual tasks and improve overall processes.

Responsibilities

As a Cybersecurity AI/Automation SME, you will:

  • Support the review of existing cybersecurity workflows and business processes to identify opportunities for automation and innovation. Conduct interviews and engage with stakeholders to fully document business processes and pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Assess available tools and technologies to assist in the design of future-state processes, technical solution architectures, and user interfaces. Present these designs to leadership for review and approval, and then iteratively refine them based on feedback.
  • Support the building, configuration, and implementation of automation capabilities using existing technologies like Power BI, ServiceNow, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Power Automate. Ensuring all solutions are rigorously tested for functionality, technical standards, and accessibility (Section 508 compliance).
  • Apply skills with Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs) like Llama 3, Mistral, or Gemma 2, and vector databases (ChromaDB, Pinecone, or Qdrant) to develop cutting-edge solutions. Utilize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) to securely connect LLMs with organizational policies and data.
  • Support the development and implementation of RPA bots integrated with AI/ML models to automate repetitive cybersecurity tasks.
  • Support the structured deployment of new solutions through phases and pilot programs to minimize risk and ensure business continuity. Provide strategic communication, training, and outreach to familiarize end users with new processes and tools.
  • Support the collection of stakeholder feedback, conduct backlog grooming, and continuously improve automation solutions to ensure they remain effective and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Support the deployment and management of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes while adhering to information security principles and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies. Implement continuous monitoring and auditing tools to ensure compliance with standards like the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Background in information security and the ability to implement secure AI systems.
  • Experience in process automation and leveraging AI/ML technologies to solve business challenges.
  • Experience Deep Learning and NLP, including a strong understanding of LLMs and RAG frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with vector databases and cloud/container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance standards such as the NIST AI RMF.
  • Experience with automation tools like Power BI, ServiceNow, UiPath, and Power Automate.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, lead design discussions, and provide effective training.
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and iterative development methodologies.
