Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Customer Architect at blithequark, you will be responsible for helping our customers unlock the full potential of our Observability Warehouse, Lumi. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with the sales team in pre-sales engagements to design and present solutions for Lumi that address customer needs in observability, SIEM, and adjacent analytics use cases.
  • Leveraging your deep expertise in Splunk and familiarity with related tools such as Cribl, Grafana, and Elastic to ensure seamless integration into customer environments.
  • Leading technical discovery, proof-of-concept, and pilot deployments, ensuring smooth onboarding, measurable value delivery, and alignment with customer business objectives to drive new and expansion opportunities.
  • Providing advanced troubleshooting during pre-sales and early adoption phases, building customer trust through technical expertise, responsive engagement, and a commitment to long-term success.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor by identifying optimization opportunities, uncovering additional use cases, and sharing best practices for managing observability and security data at scale.
  • Collaborating with product management and engineering to share customer feedback, address solution gaps, and influence the Lumi roadmap to improve product-market fit.
  • Helping achieve revenue targets set by the company
  • Keeping opportunity information up-to-date in Salesforce and other tools in partnership with the Sales team

Required Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience with observability, SIEM, or analytics platforms, including customer-facing work in pre-sales and/or early adoption phases.
  • Strong knowledge of observability architectures, log and metrics pipelines, and related tools, with strong Splunk knowledge and familiarity with complementary technologies such as Cribl, Grafana, or Elastic preferred.
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions in at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), along with working knowledge of SQL, SPL, and a programming language such as Python or Java.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively lead deep discovery, identify opportunities, and deliver enterprise solutions that integrate into existing observability stacks while addressing customer challenges and delivering measurable value.
  • Detail-oriented with strong ownership, accountability, and communication skills, able to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Background in bringing new or emerging products to market, including guiding early customer adoption and shaping product fit.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in Japanese and English, with the ability to work effectively during Japan business hours.

Bonus Points

While not required, the following skills and experiences will be highly valued:

  • Experience with large-scale log and metrics data storage, compression, and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with security analytics, incident response workflows, compliance-related data requirements, and containerized deployments using technologies such as Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Familiarity with structured sales methodologies such as MEDDIC to support effective pre-sales engagement and value-based selling.
  • Passion for mentoring team members and contributing to a culture of technical excellence and customer success.

Compensation

Individual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications aligned with blithequark's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks. The below range encompasses roles with on-target earnings. This role is also eligible to participate in blithequark's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies. Compensation: $200,000 - $280,000
