Experienced Front Office Associate – Patient Services and Administrative Support Specialist for Radiology Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Front Office Associate to join our team, providing exceptional patient services and administrative support to our radiology services. Job Summary As a Front Office Associate at RAYUS Radiology, you will play a vital role in providing services to patients and referring professionals by answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients in a cheerful, professional, and sincere manner, and performing other duties as assigned. This is a Temp/PRN position working mid-shift and/or evening-shift, offering a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients and referring providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Registration (55%): Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays; answers phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner; fields calls appropriately for center associates; acts as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information.
  • Insurance (20%): Verifies patient's insurance; pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company; obtains insurance authorization; uses knowledge of insurance carriers and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment; handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines.
  • Scheduling (20%): Arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate; enters and submits patient exam orders; verifies orders match exam schedules; schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained; schedules walk-in patients; processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients; maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians.
  • Other Duties (5%): Performs other duties as assigned, including maintaining front office lobby area, ordering office supplies, and pushing imaging via electronic interfaces.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • 1-2 years customer service experience
  • Proficient with using computer systems and typing
  • Preferred:
  • Previous medical office experience
  • Medical terminology and office background
  • Insurance knowledge
  • Bilingual
