Job Summary

As a Customer Service & Sales Professional at blithequark, you will be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to our customers, assessing their needs, and providing assistance to sell an entire project. You will learn about our products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions. You will also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe. Additionally, you will provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions to your Manager on Duty.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, assessing their needs and providing assistance to sell an entire project

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions to your Manager on Duty
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments
  • Participate in sales and customer service initiatives to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to build loyalty and drive repeat business
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends to provide expert advice and recommendations to customers

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or similar environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong product knowledge and sales skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or similar environment

  • Experience working in a hardware or building materials store
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Certification in sales or customer service (e.g. Certified Sales Professional, Certified Customer Service Representative)
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
