Business Intelligence Engineer III

Remote · USA Full-time New today

At Chewy, it is our mission to become the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners – vets and service providers – alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That’s why we continue to think of outside-the-Chewy-box ways to delight, surprise, and thank our loyal pet lovers! Our Opportunity: Chewy is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer III to join the Experimentation Platform (A/B testing). Our platform supports 100+ active internal users across multiple teams and organizations, enabling rigorous A/B testing to drive new customer experiences! This is a high-impact, high-visibility position that plays a critical role in how Chewy measures and implements customer-facing changes. You'll work cross-functionally with teams across the business, gaining exposure to diverse domains and influencing decision-making at the highest levels. Join a collaborative, fast-paced team where you'll tackle new challenges daily, contribute to meaningful outcomes, and grow alongside a platform that’s central to Chewy’s core business strategy. What You’ll Do:

  • Lead efforts to establish robust data quality standards, build efficient metric aggregation pipelines (ETL), and develop intuitive, impactful results visualizations.
  • Establish behavioral tracking and experiment tagging that are optimized for downstream analytics.
  • Partner with Data Scientists to implement advanced statistical methodologies and integrate them into self-service tooling.
  • Engage with partners across the business to promote experimentation best practices and drive adoption across the organization.
  • Design, develop, implement, and analyze high impact A/B tests for high impact initiatives.
  • Proactively identify business needs across teams and organizations and translate them into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work effectively within the overall platform architecture. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science) or related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience of BI data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure, and ETL.
  • 5+ years of experience with visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Plotly etc...
  • 5+ years of experience modeling in Big Data environments (EMR, Snowflake, DataBricks, Google Cloud etc...).
  • 3+ years of experience with A/B testing and/or causal inference methodologies, preferably within e-commerce environment.
  • Strong understanding of statistics (confidence intervals, statistical power, false discovery etc...).
  • Advanced object-oriented programing in Python.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL (complex querying and optimization).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical partners.
  • Familiarity with using LLMs and AI Agents to automate data and analytical workflows. Chewy is an equal opportunity employer.
