[Remote] Manager, Senior Risk Control Consultant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Risk Control Consultant to oversee a team of Risk Control professionals. The role involves managing risk control services, conducting field inspections, and ensuring high-quality risk management services are delivered to clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage direction of Risk Control services for a defined area, while leading a team of Risk Control Consultants. Position is 80% field work and 20% management
- Conduct Risk Control surveys at client locations to identify potential hazards and risk factors for underwriting/risk selection
- Write technically detailed reports that assess risk and clearly articulate recommendations, guiding your team in delivering consistent, high-quality outputs
- Build and support productive relationships with underwriting and service teams, brokers/agents, claims, and clients, fostering a collaborative environment within your team
- Conduct research on class of business and unique exposures, providing mentorship to team members in technical analysis
- Analyze loss trends and identify opportunities for Risk Control products and services to reduce losses, guiding your team in presenting solutions to clients
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory environments and emerging safety issues, educating your team and clients on their implications
- Ensure prompt, relevant communication with Home Office (HO) Risk Control, promoting teamwork and information sharing within your team
- Familiarize clients with Risk Control service tools, guiding your team in recommending appropriate products and services
- Oversee workload assessments within the team, ensuring alignment with business priorities and effective delegation of tasks
- Identify when to engage the expertise of others within the organization and facilitate those collaborations
Skills
- Must have 2 years management experience
- Must have 5 years' experience providing Risk Control services and risk management to all major P&C lines
- Have 1+ years' experience handling/coordinating complex risks
- Possesses a strong understanding of both Property & Casualty lines of coverage
- Must be able to work remotely, and at times travel extensively
- Ability to analyze loss information to identify root causes and develop loss sensitive recommendations
- Provide input to underwriting to help leverage marketing opportunities (primarily related to prospective policyholders)
- Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision; continually assesses workload while considering business priorities; and directs own efforts accordingly

- Utilize behavioral interviewing techniques to guide team interactions and client discussions
- Build credibility with internal and external customers, developing your team's capabilities in relationship management
- Advanced Loss Control Accreditations preferred but may be offset with work experience in Risk Control
- College degree (4-year degree or higher) preferred in Safety & Health but may be offset by work experience in Risk Control
