Key Responsibilities

As an Experienced Full Stack Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with national and federal regulations
  • Using pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions
  • Modeling and providing a unique and delightful customer experience
  • Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with services and products
  • Resolving customer issues and answering inquiries to ensure a superior customer experience
  • Fostering strong relationships with most valuable customers
  • Performing duties as assigned by the Pharmacy manager, personnel Pharmacist, and store supervisor, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
  • Assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
  • Reporting prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhering to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program
  • Registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collecting and handling coins as required
  • Taking customers to the OTC aisle to assist in finding merchandise
  • Handling telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
  • Processing (correcting and resubmitting) claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performing other clerical responsibilities as assigned by the store manager
  • Assisting and supporting the Pharmacy department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs
  • Maintaining knowledge of company asset security procedures and documenting claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or broken goods related to Rx capsules
  • Assisting pharmacists in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required
  • Assisting the Pharmacy supervisor and personnel Pharmacist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, through clinical provider detailing and outreach to healthcare agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for reinforcing growth opportunities
  • Assisting with outdoor and indoor maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with sufficient supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in appearance and condition

Education & Personal Development

* Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the arenaflex pharmacy technician training program and/or state required certification/registration

  • Attends training and completes PPLs requested by manager and acquires continuing education credits
  • Maintains expertise and knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest information and developments
  • Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE)

Basic Qualifications

* Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

* Choose to have six months of experience in a retail environment

  • Choose to have previous work experience with arenaflex
  • Desire to have desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
  • Desire to have correct computer skills
  • Desire to have knowledge of store inventory management
  • Prefer PTCB certification
