ACCOUNTING OFFICER (SPECIALIST)

The Department of Transportation is seeking an Accounting Officer (Specialist) to perform professional accounting duties related to utility invoices. The role involves processing payments, adjustments, performing reconciliations, and generating reports.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle
  • Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
  • Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation that indicates the number of units and degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent
  • Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 is required
  • All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel with experience in applying functions and formulas
  • Ability to learn and use Microsoft Access database
  • Experience in Accounts Payable reconciliation
  • Ability to plan, organize, take initiative, and establish work priorities
  • Detail oriented, focused on accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to research and analyze data, draw sound conclusions, and adopt an effective course of action
  • Willingness to learn and perform detailed work independently and communicate effectively in both writing and orally
  • Ability to prepare clear, comprehensive, and concise reports
