Software Engineer, Intern (Summer 2026)
Benchling is a biotechnology company focused on unlocking the power of biotechnology through innovative technology solutions. They are seeking Software Engineer interns for Summer 2026 to work on significant projects that involve designing complex and scalable systems impacting their customers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- You will own a project end-to-end, from initial design, to prototype, to large-scale rollout
- Design and implement backend models and API endpoints for complex scientific workflows
- Build and operate rich frontend components and visualizations
- Design and build a platform framework or infrastructure tool for other Benchling engineers to use
Skills
- Current enrollment in a BS/MS degree in computer science and/or STEM fields with an expected graduation date between Dec 2026 and Summer 2027
- A prior software engineering internship or similar experience
- Strong abilities in problem solving and iterating on feedback
- A desire to have ownership over building key pieces of product and/or platform
- Passion for learning about life science
