The Mobile Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting clinical and administrative functions in community-based outreach, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and engaging with underserved populations.

Responsibilities

  • The Mobile Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting clinical and administrative functions in community-based outreach initiatives
  • Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, drawing blood, and administering medications
  • Administrative duties may include answering phone calls, registering new patients, scheduling appointments, and collecting and posting fees
  • This role involves traveling to sites, engaging with underserved populations, helping with preventative services, immunizations, and home visits
  • The MA plays a vital role in improving access to health care, ensuring continuity of care and promoting health equity

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate and Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Reliable transportation with a CA driver's license, proof of car insurance, and a clean driving record for the last three years
  • Availability to work outside of normal shifts (e.g. 8am to 5pm), work two Saturdays a month and an occasional Sunday
  • Knowledge of Vaccines for Adults (VFA) and Vaccines for Children (VFC) program requirements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, lab procedures, and healthcare workflows
  • Associate's degree in healthcare-related field
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
