Junior Accountant (HYBRID)
Care Compass Network is seeking a Junior Accountant to support their financial needs by performing various accounting functions. The role involves recording transactions, assisting in financial audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the accurate and timely recording of daily financial transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Assist in the preparation of routine financial reports by compiling, validating, and organizing financial data
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Cross-train with other Finance team members to build functional knowledge, provide backup coverage, and support team continuity
- Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting deadlines
- Support year-end external audits by preparing schedules, responding to audit requests, and maintaining organized documentation
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and monthly journal entries
- Provide accounting support for Care Compass's Business Solutions Services, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely processing in collaboration with external partners
Skills
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with minimum of 1 year of financial experience including as a junior accountant, bookkeeper or similar position, with expertise in Microsoft Excel
- OR 3 years experience as a junior accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position, with expertise in Microsoft Excel
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S
- Applicant must reside within a 2-hour radius of our home office in Binghamton NY
- Experience with other financial tools such as QuickBooks
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize and multitask, learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to generate and interpret data and reports
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the accounting function
