About the position The Senior Consultant - AI and Data Governance role at Optiv is a fully remote position focused on enhancing the company's AI practice by securing AI use through data governance, privacy, and protection. The consultant will leverage their technical and consultative skills to engage with clients, assess AI governance programs, and provide strategic guidance on AI risk management and compliance. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in machine learning and data governance, along with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Research new and emerging compliance capabilities and risk management techniques to evolve Optiv's security expertise around AI/ML strategy.
  • Partner with Optiv technical experts to build and implement leading practices for secure AI/ML systems.
  • Author regular status updates and final deliverables during client engagements.
  • Perform AI/ML readiness assessments and advise clients on AI governance program development.
  • Provide tactical and strategic guidance to help clients achieve stronger security postures.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with client stakeholders regarding AI governance and data protection.
  • Track and monitor current practices for governing AI/ML applications.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of AI/ML services and delivery processes.
  • Mentor and train team members in AI/ML DGPP services.
  • Evaluate AI/ML security market solutions for client needs.
  • Obtain and evolve personal technical expertise through training and learning initiatives.
  • Contribute content to the Optiv blog and present on relevant topics at events.
  • Review the work of team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in Optiv's methodologies and internal processes.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with delivery and client management teams.

Requirements

  • Previous job experience in AI governance, data analytics, data protection, or compliance consulting services.
  • Practical experience (5+ years) in governance, security, or compliance role.
  • Thorough knowledge of at least two data privacy or protection capabilities.
  • Understanding of at least one standard compliance framework or regulatory standard.
  • Ability to articulate principles of NIST, HIPAA, COBIT, GDPR, CCPA, etc.
  • Contribution to project planning, engagement administration, and budget management.
  • Collaboration with business development teams for proposals.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel 50% for the first 4-6 months.
  • Ability to work with diverse and dynamic teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Hold one or more relevant certifications. Nice-to-haves
  • One or more years of experience with AI risk management and/or compliance.
  • Experience leveraging specialized tools for AI/ML systems.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning security techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of arenaflex Data Protection and Generative AI technologies.
  • Experience implementing Data Privacy and Generative AI tools in a business environment.
  • Familiarity with standards like ENISA, EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF.
  • General working knowledge of arenaflex Azure and other AI models.
  • Ability to explain machine learning risks and controls.
  • Experience training audiences about AI/ML security.
  • Knowledge of AI risks such as bias and hallucination.
