Nokia is a global leader in connectivity for the AI era. As an intern on the Session Border Controller R&D team, you will learn about software architecture for mobile phone calls and contribute ideas to enhance team efficiency in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the software architecture behind today's mobile phone calls and explore how it continues to evolve
  • Contribute new ideas to expand and improve our team's efficiency by utilizing the latest technology
  • Work with initiative and effectiveness in a hybrid environment
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to address complex, non-routine tasks and approach them with fresh perspectives

Skills

  • Currently a candidate for a Master's, Bachelor's degree, or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, etc., or a related field with an accredited school in the USA
  • Active student status for at least one year, preferably in Computer Science or a related field
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site in the Naperville, IL office during the internship
  • Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer term
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong teamwork mindset with a collaborative and professional attitude
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable work
  • Knowledge of UNIX systems; familiarity with IP networking, Linux, programming, containerization, and virtualization is a plus, with a strong willingness to learn
