Patient AR/Customer Service Representative Responsibilities

As a Patient AR/Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in our clinical operations, working closely with patients, providers, and payers to ensure seamless communication and efficient billing processes. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Answering incoming phone calls from patients and responding to their questions about their medical bills
  • Taking patient payments via phone and processing them accurately
  • Speaking with patients about their payment responsibilities and addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding their Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
  • Monitoring patients' accounts to ensure timely payment and follow-up
  • Contacting patients to follow up on overdue balances and negotiate payment plans when necessary
  • Sending patient accounts to collections as needed, while maintaining a patient-centered approach
  • Assisting with posting payments and maintaining accurate records
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support the team and achieve our goals

Patient AR/Customer Service Representative Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • General computer skills, typing skills, and a working knowledge of Medicare, Commercial Payer, and HIPAA Compliance
  • Proficiency with Navinet and other payer websites for eligibility verification and claim status to efficiently conduct accounts receivable follow-up and maximize revenue
  • A strong understanding of accounts receivables in a healthcare setting, including managed care plans, insurance carriers, referrals, and precertification procedures
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in an occasionally stressful environment, while maintaining a patient-centered approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, providers, and payers

Schedule and Work Environment

As a Patient AR/Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will work in a fast-paced medical office environment, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility is necessary, as this schedule is subject to change, and overtime may be required. You will work closely with our team to provide exceptional patient care and support, while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
