The Opportunity We're seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Lead Software Engineer to join our client's team. You'll have a direct influence on the architecture and success of mission-critical privacy and data security products.

What You'll Do

  • Build scalable, load-balanced web applications, RESTful APIs, and algorithms that process more than 50 million privacy requests daily
  • Lead feature implementation and redesign complex interfaces
  • Optimize application performance and security for enterprise-scale deployments
  • Mentor other engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and growth
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver on deadlines

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of work experience in software engineering roles
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
  • Passion for writing clean, secure, and high-quality code
  • Strong background with LAMP/LEMP stack and Linux command line proficiency
  • Strong proficiency in debugging complex software issues
  • Ability to work hybrid from the office in the DMV area (company-paid relocation assistance is available)
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without visa sponsorship

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Programming: JavaScript and OOPS (PHP, Java, C++, or similar)
  • Frontend: ReactJS, JQuery, Bootstrap
  • Backend & API: RESTful APIs, AJAX, microservices architecture
  • Databases: SQL, NoSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB
  • Caching & Messaging: Redis, RabbitMQ
  • Cloud & Containerization: Docker, AWS, IaaS, PaaS
  • DevOps & Version Control: Git, Bitbucket, third-party testing frameworks
  • Bonus: Experience with Elastic Search
  • Bonus: Security/privacy technologies (encryption, vulnerability assessment)
  • Bonus: Big Data (Hadoop, Hive, HBase)
  • Bonus: Open-source project contributions
