ANALYST II

The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) is dedicated to enhancing public safety through effective rehabilitation programs. The Analyst II role involves providing analysis, guidance, and assistance related to fiscal, budgetary, personnel, and resource needs within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Providing analysis, guidance, and assistance to the Division and institutions on issues related to fiscal, budgetary, personnel, and institution resource needs
• Planning and reviewing custody position staffing at all institutions associated with bed activations and deactivations
• Providing oversight, training, and direction regarding custody and food service positions to ensure conformance to policy and reconciliation to budgeted position authority

Skills

• Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
• If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification
• Official transcripts may be required upon appointment
• If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position
• Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board
• Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency
• A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is REQUIRED and must be submitted with your Employment Application (STD. 678)
• Applications received without an appropriate SOQ based on the instructions below will be rejected for being incomplete and will not be considered
• The SOQ must be in 12 point Calibri font; have 1” margins; be limited to no more than two pages; be in numbered form; and detail the candidate's knowledge and experience in the below areas
• Please describe your experience working in Human Resources as it pertains to position recruitment
• Please explain, in detail, your knowledge and experience, with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) or other databases
• Please provide an example of a project you lead, from development stage to completion. Who were the stakeholders involved and what was the outcome?
