Floyd|Snider is an employee-owned environmental consulting firm seeking an Environmental Data Scientist to join their Data Services team. The role involves preparing chemistry data validation, supporting data processing, analysis, and visualization, while finding creative data solutions to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare chemistry data validation
  • Support data processing, analysis, and visualization
  • Find creative data solutions that improve workflows and support project conclusions

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in data science or analytics, environmental science, chemistry, or related field
  • Some professional work experience or a capstone, internship, or extended academic project requiring collaboration and adherence to schedules
  • Programming experience in R or Python
  • Ability to work effectively with oversight and support from the Data Services team
  • Ability to manage workload, self-motivate, and fill project gaps when needed
  • Strong communication skills, including patience and responsiveness
  • Familiarity with SQL server or similar relational databases
  • Familiarity with MS Access, Tableau, and VBA
  • Familiarity with environmental chemistry data
  • Experience with confidence intervals and hypothesis testing through statistical analysis
