Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Healthcare Customer Service Representative to work on a 4-month contract basis, with the possibility of extension. As a Medicare Population Health HRA Care Navigator, you will play a vital role in conducting telephonic outreach to customers, educating them on plan benefits, and addressing gaps in care. You will be working remotely, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (CST/EST), and will be compensated at a rate of $17 per hour on W2.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct telephonic outreach to Medicare customers to complete health screenings and assess their needs
  • Educate customers on plan benefits, including coverage, copays, and deductibles, and address any gaps in care
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely hand-off to appropriate care teams, including case management and community resources
  • Document all interactions with customers, including phone calls, emails, and letters, for regulatory review and quality assurance
  • Assist customers with scheduling medical appointments, connecting them to case management and community resources, and escalating concerns or issues as needed
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Medicare regulations, policies, and procedures, and apply this knowledge to provide exceptional customer service

Essential Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with an empathetic attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. You should be proficient in navigating computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and dual-monitor setups. The ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and develop action plans with attention to detail is essential. Knowledge of healthcare and regulatory requirements, with an emphasis on Medicare, is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, experience in managed care, health services, or population management is preferred. A college degree is also preferred, although a high school diploma is the minimum educational requirement. If you have 1+ years of experience in managed care or a related healthcare field, and 1+ years involving telephone contact and process management, you will be well-suited to this role.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
