Job Summary We are seeking an experienced RN Patient Flow Coordinator to join our team on the night shift at our Elmwood location. As a key member of our patient flow team, you will be responsible for overseeing and making decisions related to patient flow, including directing and coordinating bed control, admissions, and transfers within the hospital. You will also work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Provides clinical oversight and critical thinking through the daily patient flow and bed placement decisions. Supports the hospital's administration, management, and nursing staff in achieving organizational goals set to provide patient-centered care while maintaining the organization's strategic plan. Facilitates professional relationships between leadership, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to provide patient room assignments based on patient diagnosis, acuity, and patient flow. Evaluates and facilitates staffing needs in collaboration with the nursing units, utilizing resources for capacity surge and patient flow escalation plans. Completes accurate data collection, monitoring, and evaluation. Completes rounds and supervises day-to-day operations of the nursing units. Participates in semiannual telemedicine, business development, and hospital outreach activities. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need: An Associate's degree in nursing, science, or a related field (Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred). At least 3 years of clinical experience (supervisory experience or transfer/call center experience preferred). Registered nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (ACLS and PALS certifications preferred).

Skills and Competencies

To excel in this role, you will need: Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications, including SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, and Word. The ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge and required licensure and certifications through continuous education and professional development.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including: A salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
