Job Responsibilities:
As a Lead Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the design and development of our data products and data warehouses, focusing on data analysis and science
- Planning and implementing flexible data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Our tech stack includes Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Flink, and Windstream, with languages including Python, Scala
- Helping engineer data solutions/structures and defining data models for the core data warehouse and data shops
- Collaborating with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
- Maintaining detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
- Ensuring high operational productivity and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis groups)
- Being an active member and advocate of agile/scrum practice to ensure well-being and cycle enhancements for your team
Key Capabilities:
* Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Experienced insight with distributed frameworks like Flink, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
- Solid programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
- Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
- Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e Windstream) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
- Solid knowledge of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
- You are a problem solver with strong analytical and relational skills
- Ideal to have experience with cloud advances like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
