Responsibilities
As a Customer Account Support Specialist, you'll play a critical role in servicing our large and growing portfolio. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Contacting customers: You'll reach out to customers to determine the reason for payment delinquency and negotiate payments.
- Handling accounts: You'll handle accounts with speed and accuracy while maintaining professionalism, confirming and/or negotiating payment arrangements, and researching any discrepancies.
- Meeting performance standards: You'll complete phone calls to meet required performance standards and metrics, maintaining established objectives for delinquency, repossessions, and net losses.
- Using computerized systems: You'll utilize our computerized system for tracking, information gathering, and troubleshooting.
- Documenting accounts: You'll document all accounts accurately, clearly, and concisely, noting the reason for delinquency.
- Providing accurate information: You'll respond to customer inquiries with accurate information, using professionalism and integrity.
- Complying with laws and regulations: You'll adhere to all state and federal laws in the handling of accounts.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Excellent communication skills: You'll possess excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail: You'll be meticulous in your work, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Professional phone etiquette: You'll maintain a professional tone and demeanor on the phone.
- Good follow-up skills: You'll follow up with customers to ensure issues are resolved and payments are made.
- Persuasive negotiation skills: You'll be able to negotiate payment arrangements and resolve disputes effectively.
- Microsoft Windows and Internet-based applications experience: You'll have experience using Microsoft Windows and Internet-based applications.
- Basic typing/data entry skills: You'll possess basic typing and data entry skills.
- Ability to multi-task: You'll be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Education and Experience
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- High School or Equivalent: You'll have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree: An associates degree or bachelor's degree in business or a related field may be used in lieu of experience.
- Prior experience in financial services: Prior experience in financial services or a similar industry is preferred.
