Senior Web Consultant

LHH is seeking a senior-level Web Designer and UX Lead to lead the redesign and modernization of two closely related luxury brands in the transportation/aviation space. This is a high-visibility, executive-facing engagement requiring refined design judgment, strong UX instincts, and hands-on WordPress execution. This is not a template refresh or agency-style engagement. The work involves a bespoke, video-forward WordPress rebuild for a high-trust, high-expectation audience. The ideal candidate combines editorial restraint, technical fluency, and the confidence to make strong design decisions even when assets are still evolving.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end redesign of two related websites with shared UX logic and distinct visual identities
  • Establish a modern, editorial luxury design intended to remain relevant for 3–5 years
  • Design video-forward hero experiences using restrained, cinematic motion and transitions
  • Make confident visual decisions before final video or photography exists and guide asset requirements without slowing progress
  • Execute a mobile-first design approach with strong information hierarchy and clarity
  • Personally lead and execute custom WordPress theme development (no templates)
  • Build structured CMS architecture (Gutenberg and/or ACF preferred) that enables safe, non-technical updates
  • Optimize performance, particularly on mobile
  • Design and implement premium, low-friction lead capture experiences
  • Integrate HubSpot strictly as a CRM and data layer (forms, tracking, attribution)
  • Manage staging, QA, and launch workflows
  • Collaborate directly with executive leadership and external engineers as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of senior-level experience in web design, UX, and front-end execution
  • Deep WordPress expertise, including custom theme development and performance optimization
  • Proven experience personally executing full WordPress modernizations (no delegation of build work)
  • Strong luxury UX and editorial design sensibility
  • Portfolio demonstrating elevated WordPress rebuilds with clear before/after improvement
  • Experience integrating HubSpot (or comparable CRM) for lead capture and attribution
  • Comfort working directly with executive leadership
  • U.S.-based and able to travel on-site regularly in Santa Barbara

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing video-forward websites with restrained motion
  • Background in luxury, aviation, travel, hospitality, private equity, or high-end real estate
  • Understanding of conversion psychology for high-trust or UHNW audiences
  • Ability to design dual-brand systems that feel cohesive yet distinct
