The Spotted Lanternfly Response

The Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) is an invasive insect that has been wreaking havoc on Pennsylvania's ecosystems and economy. As a key partner in the SLF response, arenaflex is seeking highly motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Part-Time Customer Service Representatives. These dedicated professionals will serve as the first point of contact for external stakeholders, providing critical information and resources to help mitigate the impact of the SLF.

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain the overall operation and professional image of the customer-focused call center

  • Serve as the first-line point of contact for external stakeholders interested in reporting a Spotted Lanternfly sighting and/or seeking additional information and resources
  • Respond and refer customer questions and/or needs, providing appropriate responses and services for the situation
  • Correspond with a diverse customer base by phone, video conference, email, or regular mail
  • Investigate unusual situations or concerns and assist in problem resolution
  • Operate various equipment and computer systems, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Assist with required reporting with the arenaflex SLF team, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, and/or United States Department of Agriculture
  • Ensure quality of all call center services

Essential Qualifications:

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a strong preference for bilingual or multilingual candidates

  • Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and clientele
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and active listening
  • Ability to work as an active member of a team, with a willingness to collaborate and support colleagues
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in customer service, call center, sales, client management, information technology, or a related field

  • Understanding of basic entomology and invasive species management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including communities of color, women, and individuals with disabilities

  • Ability to work in a team environment and build effective relationships with colleagues and clients
